Apollo was the god of light but he was not technically the Greek’s solar deity. That responsible was Helios’ who drove the sun across the sky, pulled by Pyrois (the burning one), Aeos (he of the dawn), Aethon (the blazing one), and Phlegon (the burning one).

To recreate Pyrois and Aeos, two components were emphasized: heat and liquidity. Bright yellows and oranges fulfilled the first requirement; manes and ground of leaping flames the second. By combining these idea into the form of the horse, the end result is impassioned spiritedness and freedom which has the potential to be harnessed, channeled and directed towards a greater end.
