Steven Pressfield, in his book, Turning Pro, wrote that meditation and martial arts were both means of attaining the spirit through the body. Inspiration and change can also come from the material; the future, numerous times, has come on the train tracks of dreams. The same thinking inspired this piece.

We see the return of the Art Deco style but this time wedded to Soviet Realism, chosen for its vivid portrayals of a white pilled future; in this way, it is a meeting of complimentary Western and Eastern styles. Whether the time is sunset or sunrise is left ambiguous as both are set in the future but both are bright, just like the only futures worth having are illuminous. The clouds contrast with the woman's plain shirt blouse to emphasize another fusion of opposites--practicality with dreams, both necessary and both handicapped without the other. The woman faces up with a Mona Lisa expression on her face. Whatever she sees, she is curious, full of wonder and eager to explore it. The white background is deliberate. The idea was to have sole focus on her and what she sees, making her muse, guide and inspiration simultaneously.
